Liverpool Lasik Surgery Correction
Lasik surgery in Liverpool has long been performed on people who experience chronic eye problems such as astigmatism, myopia, and hyperopia. Lasik surgery is a medical procedure that has gained a lot of popularity recently because of the advances of technology and the positive results it almost always has.
Lasik Vision Correction procedure has three phases. First, the Liverpool Lasik surgeon will create a flap on the eye of the patient through the use of a laser or metal microkeratome blade. When laser is used, the operation is referred to as IntraLASIK. This phase is no doubt the most sensitive of the three phases. After the flap is created, the surgeon will lift it then apply an excimer laser on the patient’s eye so as to alter the shape of the lens. The surgeon takes measurements before the operation so that the operation will be accurate and successful. Finally, the flap will be closed and the patient will be instructed on proper post-operative care.
The examination done by the Liverpool Lasik surgeons are no doubt as important as the post-operative procedure to be done by the patient. The check-up before the operation will give the surgeon an idea as to the structure of the eye. Some of the factors that the Lasik physician takes into consideration are the thickness of the lens and the cornea. If the examination yields results that say that the patient’s eyes cannot handle the operation, the patient is discouraged to have Lasik. During post-operative care, the patient is instructed to refrain from exposing the eye to dust or touch.
